Ahhhhh! I am a knitter, but LOVE this. I am headed to Michaels as soon as I finish my current knitting project. Thanks for sharing!!
Holy Cow! You made that amazing scarf! I saw it in Martha’s Holiday magazine and want to make it. Now that I’ve seen someone else do it and it’s really inexpensive, that motivates me to try it!
so cute lisa!
I saw this in Martha’s mag, but yours is so much cuter!
oooohhhh…i must try this!! beautiful!
Super Duper Cute! I think I’m gonna try this – my mom will be soooo proud!

I’ve seen this scarf before and have wanted to make one–you’ve inspired me to make one this weekend!
Thanks!
you are too cute Lisa!!!
Wow, thanks for this idea! I love it, and yours looks awesome. I wonder if my teenage nieces would each like one of these in their favorite color? Hmmm…
so cool…so cool…I have so many knitting projects in mind…thank goodness for the coziness of winter storms coming up.
Thanks for the great idea! What kind of yarn did you use?
I think it was called ‘Lion’s Brand’ it was the thickest I could find.
I just might have to try this. Haven’t done much lately. No place to put things at the moment, but this sounds like fun. Love your ideas.
So cute Lis! I love it! I hope you will be at church on Sunday, b/c I will be in town! Expect a big HUGE hug if you are!
I love this scarf. I made one for myself last year and got sooo many compliments on it. I may just have to make a few more in different colors.
I love the color you used.
I’ve been drooling over that scarf as well.
That color combination on you is absulutely stunning! You could be modeling for some catalog – Martha’s maybe!?!? Nice choice of colors!
AWESOME Lisa!!
Thank you-now I know what I am making for Christmas gifts!!

That alpaca is fantastic looking! Oh, how I could drool over it, lol. Thank you so much for this post, Lisa! I’m going to check into making these, for sure!
Thanks Lisa. This looks so great and easy. Now I know what to do with my yarn stash. Great find. Have a happy thanksgiving.
Just bought my yarn to try this out myself!! Glad you liked it. I can’t wait to make one myself! It looks great!
Hi Lisa…
LOVE the scarf!
I was wondering if you followed Martha’s instructions for length or those of the ladies in the comments section? I bought wool, am eager to start but not too sure if I should be making the middle lengths longer to compensate for all the knotting?
Thanks for the great idea! I too may be going into a mass knot knitting Christmas production!
Jaime
Hi Jaime! I didn’t read those comments until after I made the scarf. It turned out a bit smaller than I planned because the middle sections do use more yarn, since they are knotted more. Just cut a bit extra for the middle two sections. Hope its a success!!
Seriously who needs Martha when we have you and Chrissie to inspire us. You are adorable. By the way I LOVE the pics that you take of anyone and everything. You have time to teach Photo classes too right? Let me know, I’ll figure out a way to come.
Hi Lisa! About how wide did your scarf end up? I started on one, but thought it was too narrow. Not sure if I did something wrong, or if I need to use more strands. =D
Thanks!
Has anyone every told you that you have the most beautiful hair?! I know, I know, this post has nothing to do with the scarf! (Which is pretty, too!)
Hi! Saw you briefly in the office at CCM the other day, and sorry I forgot to tell you I have read your blog and tried this scarf for myself! Got some thick white wool yarn, and was so quick and simple. FYI I taped the ends high up on a wall to make it easier to tie the knots. Have gotten so many compliments… never knew macrame could be so hip! Your blog is awesome and I love your family photos – makes me want one of my own! Hope you got a lot of buzz from the CCM Gift Guide! It will be removed from the CCM website soon, so hope you had a chance to forward the link to friends and family. http://centralcoastmag.com/galleries/access/GiftGuide2008/index.html
